Why I Am Building in Public This Year

Visibility as leadership.

A year ago, I started Secret Life Digital to help people share their stories with the world.

Not just market them.
Not just “grow their brand.”
But actually honour what they care about.

And somewhere along the way, I realized something uncomfortable. I was helping authors and creatives be visible while I stayed mostly behind the scenes.

This year, that changes.

I’m building in public.

Not because everything is polished.
Not because I have a perfect strategy mapped out.
But because I believe visibility is leadership, especially in a creative business.

For a long time, I thought leadership meant certainty. Having answers. Showing up only when things were refined and ready. But what I’ve learned — from working with storytellers, writers, and entrepreneurs is that people connect to process more than perfection.

So this year, you’ll see the evolution of Secret Life Digital in real time.

You’ll see the pivots.
The experiments.
The refining of projects.
The building of sustainable systems.
The lessons that work and the ones that don’t.

Because building a brand isn’t just about growth. It’s about alignment.

Secret Life Digital is shifting into something more intentional and community-driven. A space where authors and creatives feel supported. A place that believes every voice has value and that imagination can push past limitations.

If I’m going to encourage others to show up and share their stories, I need to do the same.

So I’m choosing to be visible.
To document the process.
To lead openly.

If you’re building something a book, a business, a creative dream you haven’t fully said out loud yet — I hope you’ll build alongside me.
